Error: Cannot find <path>\File.doc (due to no association with Word document).
Error:
Cannot find <path>\File.doc.
Cause:
This error occurs when opening a long filename that has no association in an Office 95 program. This occurs with both Word and Excel. Setup does not modify the Registry correctly for Excel 7.0 or Word 7.0. Microsoft Corporation has confirmed this to be a problem in Excel 7.0 and Word 7.0.
Solution:
Edit the action in the 'File Types' properties sheet for the Word to read: C:\MSOffice\WINWORD\WINWORD.EXE '%1'
1) Open 'My Computer' on the Windows 95 desktop.
2) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Options...'.
3) Click the 'File Types' tab.
4) Select 'Microsoft Word Document' from the 'Registered File Types' list.

5) Click 'Edit...'.
6) Select 'Open' from the 'Actions' list box.

7) Click 'Edit...'.
8) Type the following after the 'C:\MSOffice\WINWORD\WINWORD.EXE' line in the 'Application Used to Perform Action' box:
